What this is

Verdemar is a tool for recording and analysing your own investments. You give it your transactions; it values your holdings, works out your returns, and shows you reports.

It is not financial advice

Nothing here is advice, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell anything. We are not regulated as a financial adviser and we are not your broker or custodian. We never hold, move, or have access to your money. Every number is a calculation over data you entered, shown so you can make your own decisions. If you need advice, talk to someone qualified and regulated.

Accuracy, and its limits

We work hard to get the numbers right, and we would rather show you nothing than show you something we know is wrong. But we take market prices, exchange rates and tax rules from third parties, and those can be late, wrong, or missing.

Tax figures — including any UK CGT estimates — are illustrative only. We calculate them to the best of our ability to help you plan, but they are not a tax return and they are not tax advice, and they may be incomplete or wrong. Always have them checked by a qualified professional before you rely on them.

Your account

You need an account, and you're responsible for keeping access to the email address it's tied to — anyone who can read that inbox can sign in as you, because that's how sign-in links work. Tell us if you think someone else has got in. Don't use the app to break the law, and don't attack or overload it.

Your data is yours

You keep ownership of everything you put in. You grant us only the permission needed to store it and show it back to you. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to advertise to you.

Sharing your account

You can invite someone else to see your account — a partner, or an adviser. You choose what they get: view only, or view and edit. "View and edit" means they can add, change and delete accounts, holdings and transactions, exactly as you can. Nobody you invite can change your own settings, see your email address or date of birth, or invite anyone else.

An invitation gives nobody anything until they accept it. They have to have their own Verdemar account on the address you invited, and accept it themselves. You can withdraw an invitation, change what someone can do, or remove their access at any time, from Sharing — and it stops working immediately.

If someone shares their account with you, what you do in it is their responsibility and yours, not ours. Treat what you see there as theirs.

Ending it

You can stop using the app whenever you like and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend an account that is being used to harm the service or other people. If we ever shut down, we'll give you notice and a way to export your data first.

Liability

The app is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for investment losses, or for decisions you made using these numbers. Nothing here limits liability for anything that can't legally be limited, such as fraud.

Changes

If we change these terms materially, we'll tell you and ask you to accept the new version. Each version is dated, and we record which one you agreed to.
